Breakouts, dry skin, wrinkles & pigmentation: How to fix your isolation skin

After returning back to business, I’ve been hearing a common comment from my patients: “Fix my isolation skin!” – Isolation skin can come in the form of wrinkles, breakouts, flakiness, dull and uneven skin tone, acne, pimples, you name it! What is it caused by? Overall a change in environment – including Stress, lack of sleep, change in diet, little-no exercise, or shift in your hormones. Did you see a change in your skin due to isolation?

To help you overcome your isolation skin issues, here are my top tips and products to use to get your skin back to being fabulous and flawless!

Cleanse your skin

Use a good cleanser, morning and night. (After make-up removal)

My absolute favourite morning cleansers for winter would be:

Total Ageless Facial Cleanser – an age-defying cleanser that removes make-up and jumpstarts skin exfoliation. Glycolic acid sweeps away dead skin build-up that can dull the skin and clog pores. A refreshing boost of menthol awakens the skin with every use. (Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women).

Exfoliate Regularly

Use a good exfoliator to remove dull and dead skin which has built up on your skin during the week. Don’t forget to exfoliate your face and your body.

Ageless Total Resurfacing Masque – This micro-exfoliating masque revitalises and rejuventates the skin. A perfect blend of hydroxy acids, smoothing crystals and fruit enzymes, provide a multi-action exfoliation for even-toned, healthy-looking skin. Plant-based brighteners fight the look of dark spots and discolouration. Ideal for use on the face and body.

Body Spa Exfoliating Body Scrub is a great product to revive dull, dry and flaky skin. It uses pineapple and papaya fruit enzymes with an alpha hydroxy acid blend to dissolve dulling surface cells, as crushed walnut shells buff away rough patches. Simply massage on damp skin and rinse thoroughly. Use this daily to exfoliate and rejuvenate skin. (Suitable for the body only.)

Use a Serum

Use a good quality, targeted serum day and night under your moisturiser

Vital C Antioxidant Hydrating ACE Serum – Up your skin’s daily defence system with this multi-vitamin serum. This concentrated essence is infused with a power blend of vitamins, amino acids and plant antioxidants to diminish the look of fine lines, dryness and dullness. Delivery maximum antioxidants for radiant, healthy-looking skin. (You can add an additional serum over the top for an extra boost)

Masks

The most popular and easiest at-home treatment you can think of! Having a bad day? A face mask will solve ALL your problems – or at least make you feel a better about yourself.

I love the I Mask Hydrating Hydrogel Sheet Mask which comes in a 5 pack and is perfect for hydrating dull and dry skin. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and gives your skin an instant, plump and firm appearance. Mineral-rich Onsen-Sui and JeJu volcanic waters quench the skin, leaving it feeling plump, dewy and revitalised. A powerful blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Vera and Antioxidants leave the skin radiant and glowing. (Buy 4 get 1 FREE)

If you prefer a paint on mask, I suggest the I Mask Firming Transformation Mask

If you have stress and fatigued skin, this luxurious mask delivers exceptional hydration and leaves the skin feeling firm and revitalised. Jojoba beads gently polish away dullness while a rare pepper berry plant extract supports the skin’s well-being, helping to fight skin stressors for happy, healthy-looking skin.

Now with a face mask on, you can sit back and relax with a glass of wine – you deserve it!

Daily Moisturiser

My favourite moisturiser right now would be Vital C Hydrating Intense Moisturiser. This is a nourishing cream which progressively replenishes hydration and shields dehydrated skin against dryness. Rich in Shea butter to help lock in moisture, along with the hydrating power of Hyaluronic Acid. The smoothing texture absorbs quickly to rapidly comfort tight, irritated or sensitive skin.

Night Moisturisers

My favourite night products include:

Iluma Brightening Crème

A powerful serum packed with citrus-based brighteners and a potent form of Vitamin C to help reduce the look of dark spots and discolouration. Azelaic Acid gently exfoliated for boosted radiance and glow.

Ageless Total Overnight Retinol MasqueThis uses the proven anti-aging benefits of retinol. This is an advanced treatment masque which transforms the skin’s appearance while you sleep. Multi-action technology continuously releases hydrating microspheres of marine collagen to lock in moisture and deliver retinol deep into your skin, which supports the remodelling of collagen. A must have this winter! (Use 1-3 times a week)

Here’s a helpful hint too – keep your products next to your bed and apply right before you go to sleep, now you have no excuse!

It’s time to banish that isolation look and get back your gorgeous glowing skin.
